During the First World War, he was director of artillery for the Sixth Army Division, 1914-1915, and director of artillery at the Grand Headquarters, 1915-1919.
After the First World War, he was inspector of the training centre for artillery lieutenants from 1919 to 1920, ending his career as inspector general of artillery from 1920 to 1922.
